## How to find whether the given number is divisible by 11 ?

If the difference between the sum of one set of alternate digits and the sum of the other set of alternate digits is 0 or 11 or 22.....the numbers are divisible by 11.

For example let us take the number 198.

To check whether it is divisible by 11 or not.

Sum of numbers which are in first and third place :

1 + 8  =  9

Middle number :

9

Hence the given number 198 is divisible by 11.

Solution :

Sum of numbers which are in 1st and 3rd place :

6 + 9  =  15

Sum of numbers which are in 2nd and 4th place :

2 + 2  =  4

Difference between the sum of alternative digits

15  -  4  =  11

Hence, the given number is divisible by 11.

Question 2 :

Check whether the number 1936 is divisible by 11.

Solution :

Sum of numbers which are in 1st and 3rd place :

1 + 3  =  4

Sum of numbers which are in 2nd and 4th place :

9 + 6  =  15
