## DIVISIBILITY RULE FOR 4

In a number, if the last two digits are zeroes or the number formed by the last 2 digits is divisible by 4, then the number is divisible by 4.

Example 1 :

Check whether 328 is divisible by 4.

Solution :

In the given number 328, the last two digits are not zeroes.

But, the number formed by the last two digits is 28 which is divisible by 4.

So, the given number 328 is divisible by 4.

Example 2 :

Check whether 1688 is divisible by 4.

Solution :

In the given number 1688, the last two digits are not zeroes.

But, the number formed by the last two digits is 88 which is divisible by 4.

So, the given number 1688 is divisible by 4.

Example 3:

Test whether 100 is divisible by 4?

Solution :

In the given number 100, the last two digits are zeroes.

So, the given number 100 is divisible by 4.

Example 4 :

Test whether 274 is divisible by 4?

Solution :

In the given number 274, the last two digits are not zeroes.

And also, the number formed by the last two digits is 74 which is not divisible by 4.

So, the given number 274 is not divisible by 4.

Example 5 :

Check whether 56000 is divisible by 4.

Solution :

In the given number 56000, the last two digits are zeroes.

So, the given number 56000 is divisible by 4.
