Identify the type of each polynomial based on its degree and number of terms.
Example 1 :
7y
Solution :
Degree : 1
Terms : 1
(7y) is a linear monomial.
Example 2 :
2 - 5x
Solution :
Degree : 1
Terms : 2
(2 - 5x) is a linear binomial.
Example 3 :
3z2 - 5z + 2
Solution :
Degree : 2
Terms : 3
(3z2 - 5z + 2) is a quadratic trinomial.
Example 4 :
4a3 - 2a2 - a + 3
Solution :
Degree : 3
Terms : 4
(4a3 - 2a2 - a + 3) is a cubic polynomial.
Example 5 :
7x6 + 5x3 - 3x2 - 4x + 3
Solution :
Degree : 6
Terms : 5
(7x6 + 5x3 - 3x2 - 4x + 3) is a 6th degree polynomial.
