Key : 1 plate = 3 plate lunches.

Number of plates in Gomez = 6

Number of plates in Cohen = 9

Difference = 9 - 6

= 3

= 3(3)

= 9 plates

What is the difference between the total number of students in grade 3 and grade 4 and the total number of students absent in grade 1 ?

Key : Each face will represent 2.

Total number of students in grade 3 and grade 4 :

= 4 + 5.5

= 9.5

Total number of students in grade 1 = 8.5

Difference between them = 9.5 - 8.5

How many cents less does notebook paper cost than a box of markers ?

Solution :

Number of notebook paper = 8

Cost of notebook paper = 8(0.10)

= 0.80 

Number box of markers = 13

Number box of markers = 13(0.10)

= 1.3

Difference between two costs = 1.3 - 0.80

= 0.5

50 cents is the difference.

Total number of cans collected = (7 + 5) (10)

= 12(10)

= 120
