5. Answer :

3/4, 2/5, 5/8, 1/2

Least common multiple of (4, 5, 8, 2) = 40.

3/4 = (3 ⋅ 10)/(4 ⋅ 10) = 30/40

2/5 = (2 ⋅ 8)/(5 ⋅ 8) = 16/40

5/8 = (5 ⋅ 5)/(8 ⋅ 5) = 25/40

Substitute the corresponding original fractions.

-1/3, -7/12, -3/4, -5/6

9. Answer :

Quantity of paint Dennis used = 3⁄8

Quantity of paint Jackson used = 5⁄8

Since the denominators are same for these two fractions, it is ok to compare the numerators and decide which fraction is greater.

3/8 < 5/8

So, Jackson used more quantity of paint.

10. Answer :

Number of visitors at an amusement park are between the ages of 18 and 26

= 4/7

Number of visitors at an amusement park are at the age under 18

= 4/10

To compare these two fractions, we have to compare the denominators and make it same.

LCM(7, 10) = 70

= 4/7 x 10/10

= 40/70

= 4/10 x (7/7)

= 28/70

40/70 > 28/70

So, in between the ages 18 and 26 the number of visitors is more.
