Write the fraction given below in its lowest term.

Solution :

In the given fraction, the greatest common divisor of both numerator and denominator is 8. 

So, divide both numerator and denominator by 8.

24/40  =  (24 ÷ 8) / (40 ÷ 8)

24/40  =  3/5

Problem 2 :

Write the fraction given below in its lowest term. 

21/77

Solution :

In the given fraction, the greatest common divisor of both numerator and denominator is 7. 

So, divide both numerator and denominator by 7.

21/77  =  (21 ÷ 7) / (77 ÷ 7)

21/77  =  3/11

Solution :

In the given fraction, the greatest common divisor of both numerator and denominator is 25. 

So, divide both numerator and denominator by 25.

Solution :

In the given fraction, the greatest common divisor of both numerator and denominator is 100. 

So, divide both numerator and denominator by 100.

1000/1300  =  (1000 ÷ 100) / (1300 ÷ 100)

1000/1300  =  10/13
