Question 3 :

Plot the following points in the coordinate plane and join them. What is your conclusion about the resulting figure?

(i) (–5,3) (–1,3) (0,3) (5,3)

Solution : Hence the given points are collinear. By joining the point, we get the straight line which is parallel to x-axis.

(ii) (0,–4) (0,–2) (0,4) (0,5)

Solution : A straight line lies on y-axis.

Question 4 :

Plot the following points in the coordinate plane. Join them in order. What type of geometrical shape is formed?

(i) (0,0) (–4,0) (–4,–4) (0,–4)

Solution :

Let the given points be A (0,0) B(–4,0) C (–4,–4) and D(0,–4) By joining the given points, we get a square.
