Definition of multiplication:

Multiplication is nothing but the continuous addition. It is the inverse process of division. It increases the value.

Practical example:

let us take the multiplication problem 2 x 3. For calculating the answer we can use the multiplication tables. In that we have 2 x 3. The answer for that is 6.other wise we can apply the continuous addition method that is adding 2 as three times that is 2 + 2 + 2 .The answer will be same.

Now we are going to see how to multiply any two numbers. We have given clear steps with explanation. Here we you can find the example of multiplying the number 12 with 15.

Example of multiplying two numbers

Step 1:

In the first step we have multiplied the last digit of the first number with the last digit of the second number.

If we multiply 2 with 5 we will get 10.So we have to put 0only then we have to keep 1 as it is.

Step 2:

Now we have to multiply the last digit of the second number with the first digit of the first number. If we multiply 2 with 1 we will get 2 and we have to add the remainder with this 2.So we will get 3.

Step 3:

In this step we have to multiply the first digit of the second number with last digit of the first number. If we multiply 1 by 5 we will get 5.

Step 4:

Now we have to multiply the first digit of the second number with first digit of the second number. If we multiply 1 by 1 we will get 1.

Step 5:

Now we have to add them to get the final answer.
