In this page fraction worksheets you can get worksheets for addition, subtraction, multiplication and division worksheets. Now you can see examples with worksheets.
Add 3/11 + 5/11 + 2/11
As the denominators are same we have to add only the numerators.
Add 7/8 + 5/2
We are having the different denominator. So we have to L.C.M to make them same. Here L.C.M = 8
The denominator of the second fraction is 2.To make them as 8 we have multiplied the second fraction by 4/4.
= 7/8 + (5/2) x (4/4)
= 7/8 + 20/8
Now we have to common denominator. So we can put only one denominator and add the numerators.
Now we need to simplify using 4 times table
Subtract 6/10 - 3/10
These two fractions are having same denominator. That is 10. So we can put only one of them.
Multiply (5/6) x (3/8)
To multiply these two
fractions we have to multiply the numerator of the first fraction with
the numerator of the second fraction and the denominator of the first
fraction with the denominator of the second fraction.
= (5/6) x (3/8)
We can simplify this using 3 times table. So we will get 5/16.
Divide 5/13 by 25/39
= 5/13 ÷ 25/39
this problem we are having the symbol division in the middle of two
fractions. So we are going to change the division which is in the middle
as multiplication and we have to change the second fraction as its
= 5/13 x 39/25
= (5 x 39) / (13 x 25)
We can simplify 39 and 13 by using 13 times table and we have to change 5 and 25 using 5 times table.
= ( 1 x 3 ) / (1 x 5)
= 3 / 5
If we divide those two fractions we will get the answer 3/5.
