Fraction :

A part of a whole split up into equal pieces of the same size.

Example :

3/5 ---> represents three out of total five pieces

2. Answer :

Numerator :

The top number of a fraction representing how many pieces you have.

Example :

2/5 ----> 2 is the numerator

Denominator :

The bottom number of a fraction representing how many total pieces your whole is split into.

Example :
