Question 1 :

In which quadrant does the terminal arm of each angle in standard position lie?

(a) 48°    (b) 300°     (c) 185°    (d) 75°  (e) 220°   (f) 160°

Solution :

(a) 48°

The angle 48 degree is greater than 0 and lesser than 90. So, it lies in the 1st quadrant.

(a) 300°

185 lies between 270 and 300. Hence the terminal arm lies in 4th quadrant.

(c) 185°

185 lies between 180 and 270. Hence the terminal arm lies in 3rd quadrant.

(d) 75°

75 lies between 0 and 90. Hence the terminal arm lies in 1st quadrant.

(e) 220°

220 lies between 180 and 270. Hence the terminal arm lies in 3rd quadrant.

(f) 160°

160 lies between 90 and 180. Hence the terminal arm lies in 2nd quadrant.

Draw the Angle with the Given Measure in Standard Position

Question 2 :

Sketch an angle in standard position with each given measure.

Solution :

(a) 70°

(b) 310°

(c) 225°

(d) 165°
