In this page combination of solids solution11 we are going to see solution some practice questions of the worksheet combination of solid worksheet2.

**Question 11:**

A spherical solid material of radius 18 cm is melted and recast in to three small solid spherical spheres of different sizes. If the radii of two spheres are 2 cm and 12 cm,find the radius of new solid.

**Solution:**

Volume of sphere = (4/3) Π r³

(4/3) Π (18)³ = (4/3) Π (2)³ + (4/3) Π (12)³ + (4/3) Π r³

(4/3) Π (18)³ = (4/3) Π [(2)³ + (12)³ + r³ ]

(18)³ = [(2)³ + (12)³ + r³ ]

5832 = 8 + 1728 + r³

5832 = 1736 + r³

5832 - 1736 = r³

4096 = r³

r = ∛16 **x** 16 **x** 16

r = 16 cm

**Radius of third sphere = 16 cm**
