Question 1 :
The percentage of prime numbers greater than 1 through 1 to 10?
(A) 40% (B) 50% (C) 80 %
Solution :
Numbers from 1 to 10 are
1, 2, ,3, 4, ,5 ,6 7, ,8 9, 10
Out of which prime numbers are 2, 3, 5, 7
Out of 10 numbers 4 are primes.
Percentage of prime numbers = (4/10) x 100%
= 40%
Question 2 :
Three numbers are chosen randomly between 1 to 10 (Inclusive). If the product of those three numbers is 24 and the sum is 9, then those three numbers are
(A) 2, 5, 1 (B) 1, 1, 4 (C) 2, 3, 4
Solution :
Option C satisfies both the conditions.
Sum of 2, 3, 4 is 9 and the product is 24.
Question 3 :
If the sum of the radius and the diameter of a circle is 9, then the circumference of this circle ?
(A) 2π (B) 5π (C) 6π
Solution :
Radius + Diameter = 9
r + 2r = 9
3r = 9
r = 3
Circumference of circle = 2πr
= 2π(3)
= 6π
Question 4 :
18 is A % of 60. What is the value of A?
(A) 20% (B) 30% (C) 25%
Solution :
A% of 60 = 18
(60A/100) = 18
A = 1800/60
A = 30%
Question 5 :
The average of three consecutive natural numbers is 24, The difference between the largest and the smallest of these three numbers is ?
(A) 10, 20, 25 (B) 23, 24, 25 (C) 12, 15, 20
Solution :
Let x, x + 1 and x + 2 be three consecutive natural numbers.
Sum of three consecutive numbers = 24
Average of three consecutive numbers :
(x + x + 1 + x + 2)/3 = 24
3x = 72 - 3
3x = 69
x = 23
So, the consecutive numbers are 23, 24 and 25.
Question 6 :
Peter is twice as old as Ronald and Ronald is twice as old as Daniel. If Daniel is 12 years old, how old is Peter in years?
(A) 14 (B) 51 (C) 48
Solution :
Let x be the age of Daniel.
2x = Age of Ronald
2(2x) = 4x = Age of Peter
x = 12
4x = 4(12) = 48
Hence age of peter is 48.
Question 7 :
In the first 25 positive natural, 5 even numbers are removed, then percent of the remaining even numbers out of the 25 numbers is
(A) 45 (B) 25 (C) 28
Solution :
Totally we will have 25 numbers.
The numbers to be removed are 2, 4, 6, 8, 10.
Now we have 20 numbers. In that even numbers are
12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, 24
Percentage of remaining numbers :
= (7/25) ⋅ 100
= 28%
Question 8 :
The reduced form of the fraction (585/3315) is
(A) 3/17 (B) 5/18 (C) 3/19
Solution :
= (585/3315)
In the first step we can simplify using 5 times table. So, we get
= 117/663
Divide both numerator and denominator by 3
= 39/221
Divide both numerator and denominator by 13 times table.
= 3/17
Question 9 :
The reciprocal of the sum of four sevenths and seven fourths is
(A) 28/65 (B) 35/47 (C) 14/39
Solution :
= (4/7) + (7/4)
= (16 + 49)/28
= 65/28
Reciprocal of 65/28 is 28/65.
Question 10 :
The largest prime factor of 30 times 40 times 50 is
(A) 8 (B) 5 (C) 3
Solution :
5 is the largest prime factor of 30 x 40 x 50.
