Solution :

In the given point, x and y are positive. So it lies in the first quadrant.

Question 2 :

How many numbers are divisible by 6 between 10 and 50 ?

(A) 8      (B) 5       (C) 7

Numbers which are divisible by 6 between 10 and 50 are 

12, 18, 24,30, 36, 42, 48

Hence 7 numbers are divisible by 6.

Question 3 :

Find the product of 1.008 x 7

(A) 5.012       (B) 6.026      (C) 7.056

Solution :

 1.008 x 7  =  7.056

Question 4 :

Which of the following is correct?

(A) 0 < -1        (B) 0 > -5        (C) -3 > 0

Solution :

Negative numbers are lesser than 0. So, 0 < -1 is correct.

Question 5 :

Joseph earned $20.70 for working 6 hours. How much was he paid for an hour?

(A) $5.15         (B) $3.45       (C) $2.25

Solution :

Money earned by Joseph in 6 hours  =  $20.70

Money earned in 1 hour  =  20.70/6

  =  $3.45

Hence the answer is 3.45.

Question 6 :

The area of a picture is 240 sq.cm. Its length is 20 cm. What is the breadth?

(A) 18 cm       (B) 15 cm      (C) 12 cm

Solution :

Area of picture  =  240

length  =  20 cm, breadth  =  ?

Area of the rectangle  =  length x breadth

20 x breadth  =  240

Breadth  =  240/20

Breadth  =  12 cm

Question 7 :

Find the greatest common factor of 15, 35 and 75 ?

(A) 305        (B) 615        (C) 525

Solution :

Greatest common factor  =  5⋅3⋅7⋅5

  =  525

Question 8 :

The value of 3 cubed times 2 squared is

(A) 108         (B) 102       (c) 110

Solution :

 3 cubed times 2 squared  =  3⋅ 22

  =  9 ⋅ 4

  =  36

Question 9 :

If A  =  {2, 4, 6, 8} then what will be the value of n(A)

(A) 4        (B) 7         (C) 10

Solution :

The number of elements in the set A is 4.

The value of n(A)  =  4

Question 10 :

What is the value of 6!

(A) 540        (B) 720        (C) 120

Solution :

6!  =  6 ⋅ 5 ⋅ 4 ⋅ 3 ⋅ 2 ⋅ 1

  =  720
