n (A) = 12

Probability of getting a number which is divisible by 4, P (A) = n (A)/n (S)

= 12/50

Let B be the event of getting a number which is divisible by 6

B = {6 ,12 , 18 , 24 , 30 , 36 , 42 , 48}

n (B) = 8

Probability of getting a number which is divisible by 6, P (B) = n (B)/n (S)

= 8/50

A ∩ B = {12 , 24 ,36 , 48}

n (A ∩ B) = 4

P (A ∩ B) = n (A ∩ B)/n (S)

= 4/50

P (A U B) = P (A) + P (B) - P (A ∩ B)

= (12/50) + (8/50) - (4/50)

= (12 + 8 - 4)/50

= (20 - 4) /50

= 16/50

= 8/25
