Simplify 3 + 5 log ₃ 5
Solution:
Basic idea : Here totally we have two terms. In the first term there is no log for that we have to consider that there will be 1 and then we can combine them by using logarithmic formulas.
= 3 + 5 log ₃ 5
= 3 (1) + 5 log ₃ 5
= 3 log ₃ 3 + 5 log ₃ 5
= log ₃ 3³ + log ₃ 5⁵
= log ₃ 27 + log ₃ 3125
= log ₃ (27 x 3125)
= log ₃ 84375
