"Place values" is the much required stuff for the children who study math in primary level.

**Place values : **

Place-values of a digit in a number is the digit multiplied by thousand or hundred or whatever place it is situated.

For better understanding, here we are going to discuss about place value in detail.

When we look at the picture given below, we can clearly understand how to find the place-value.

**Example 1 :**

Find the place-value of 3 in 4,356

**Solution :**

3 is in hundreds place. So we have to read the number 4356 as "Four thousand three hundred fifty six"

**Example 2 :**

Find the place-value of 1 in 1,248

**Solution :**

**1 is in thousands place. So we have to read the number 1248 as "One thousand two hundred forty eight"**

**Example 3 :**

Find the place-value of 0 in 506

**Solution :**

0 is in tens place. **So we have to read the number 506 as "Five hundred six****"**

**Example 4 :**

Find the place-value of 2 in 20054

**Solution :**

**2 is in hundred thousands place. So we have to read the number 20056 as "Two hundred thousand fifty six**

**Example 5 :**

Find the place-value of 3 in 102345

**Solution :**

**3 is in hundreds place. So we have to read the number 102345 as "One hundred two thousand three hundred forty five**

**Example 6 :**

Find the place-value of 9 in 956

**Solution :**

**9 is in hundreds place. So we have to read the number 956 as "Nine hundred fifty six"**

**Example 7 :**

Find the place-value of 2 in 2466

**Solution :**

**2 is in thousands place. So we have to read the number 2466 as "Two thousand four hundred sixty six"**

**Example 8 :**

Find the place-value of 9 in 219775

**Solution :**

**9 is in thousands place. So we have to read the number 219775 as "Two hundred nineteen thousand seven hundred seventy five"**

**Example 9 :**

Find the place-value of 1 in 219775

**Solution :**

**1 is in hundred thousands place. So we have to read the number 219775 as "Two hundred nineteen thousand seven hundred seventy five"**

**Example 10 :**

Find the place-value of 4 in 4,356

**Solution :**

4 is in thousands place. So we have to read the number 4356 as "Four thousand three hundred fifty six"

After having gone through the example problems explained on place-value, we hope that students would have understood "How to do problems on place-value"
