Width of each dime = 1/2 inch.

Number of dimes at the end = 5.

Length of dime at the end :

= 5 ⋅ (1/2)

= 5/2

  = 2.5 inch

So, length of die at the end is 2.5 inch.

2. Answer :

Number of cookies i have = 10.

Number of cookies that i am going to give to my friend :

= 1/2 of 10

= 1/2 ⋅ 10

= 5 cookies

So, i will give 5 cookies to my friend.

3. Answer :

Number of cookies i have = 10.

Number of saplings in the garden = 4.

Distance between adjacent sapling = 3/4 m.

Distance between first and last sapling :

= 4 ⋅ (3/4)

= 12/4

= 3 m

So, the distance between the first and last sapling is 3 m.

4. Answer :

In 1 hour part of the book completed by Ronald = 1/3.

Distance covered in 2 hours,

 = 2 ⋅ 1/3

= 11/5 ⋅ 1/3

So, distance covered in 2 hours is 11/15 km.

5. Answer :

Time spent by Laura to read book = 1¾ hours.

Number of days taken by her to complete the entire book

Converting to mixed fraction, we get

= $131⁷⁄₂₀

7. Answer :

Distance covered by Sharon in one hour = 8 km.

= 25/3

Distance covered in 2 2/5 hours :

= (2) ⋅ (25/3)
