In this page lcm practical problems question4 we are going to see solution of first problem.

**Question 4:**

What is the smallest number which when divided by 36 and 48 leaves a remainder of 6?

**Solution:**

For this we have to find the least number which are divisible by 36 and 48.

36 = 2 x 2 x 3 x 3

48 = 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 3

L.C.M = 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 3 x 3

= 144

From this we come to know that 144 is the least number which are divisible by 36 and 48. Now we need to find that the particular number which leaves the remainder 6.

144 is exactly divisible by 36 and 48

So required number = 144 + 6

= 150
