Terms

Definition

Base

The bottom of the solid, shape or 3 dimensional object. All the objects or solids rests on base. Base is used as a reference side for measurements. So base is a surface on which the solid or surfaces rests on.

Base 10

It refers to the numbering system in common use. For example in 325, 5 stands for ones, 2 stands for tens and 3 stands for hundreds.

     1=10⁰

    10=10¹

    100=10²

Each one is power of tens.

Bar Graph

Bar graph displays data visually. The other names for bar graph is bar chart or bar graph. Data is displayed in bar chart or bar graph with rectangular bars with lengths proportional to the values that they represent. It can be plotted either vertically or horizontally.
Bar charts are used to mark clear data which has learned values.It is very useful to record information whether it is continuous or not continuous. Bar charts also look like histogram, but they are not same. In the below graph you can see how many likes red,green,blue and yellow color.

BEMDAS or  PEMDAS

It is an acronym for order of operations in algebra. In math problems involving different operations, order is necessary to get the exact answer. Each letter stands for each operation.
B or P stands for bracket or parenthesis
E stands for exponents
D stands for division
M stands for multiplication
A stands for addition
S stands for subtraction

Bell Curve

It is used to described the mathematical(statistical) concept normal distribution.
It refer to Gaussian function whose graph is bell shaped or whose density function is a Gaussian function.

Bisector

A line which cuts an angle or a line into two equal parts is called as bisector.

Binomial Distribution

A random variable X is said to follow Binomial distribution if its probability mass function is given by

Bernoulli's formula in integration

∫ u dv = uv - u' v₁ + u'' v₂ ..............

Basic proportionality theorem

If a straight line is drawn parallel to one side of a triangle, it cuts the other two sides proportionally. That is

AD/DB = AE/EC

Binary Operation

Binary operation such that addition of any two natural numbers is a natural number,the product of any two natural number is also a natural number. Each of these operation associates two elements and produces the third element. Bi mean two that is combining two elements.

Binomial

A polynomial equation with two terms are called binomial.For example 3x²+4, x²+2x are binomial.
