Basic idea:

this problem we have 3 m length wood.We need to cut them in to a measure of ⅕
m long.And we need to find how many pieces can be cut from the wood.To solve this problem we have to use the concept division.Because we are going to divide a wooden piece into some equal parts.To find the number of pieces we have to divide the original length of the wood by measurement of each wood.

**Solution:**

Length of the given wood = 3 m

Length of each piece = 1/5

Length of each pieces which

has been cut = Length of wood/(measurement of wood piece)

= 3 ÷ (1/5)

3 can be written as (3/1)

= (3/1) ÷ (1/5)

Now we have to change the division as multiplication.So that we have to write the second fraction as its reciprocal.And first fraction has to be written as it is.

= (3/1) x (5/1)

= (3x5)/(1x1)

= 15

So the final answer is 15.

That is 3m wood can be cut into 15 equal parts.
